An Interview: Spiritual Teacher Marlise Karlin ‘The Simplicity of Stillness’

Marlise Karlin

Have you ever met someone who really took your breath away because of their incredible calmness and positivity? I recently spoke with Marlise Karlin , a spiritual teacher who offers people connection to their essence, through a technique she has termedThe Simplicity of Stillness’. This  offers simple methods that are both ‘practical’ and ‘profound’. These methods can be used by people everywhere, regardless of culture, race or religion, to bring greater awareness into their daily lives.

A mixed approach that offers a new take on our spiritual development

Listen to the audio here:

Marlise categorizes her techniques in two ways. She offers Stillness Sessions which tackle the profound, and The Practices, which focus on the practical side of our spiritual development.

Stillness Sessions are an experiential form of teaching designed to move people beyond the limitations and agitations of the mind and into their natural state of being. These journeys are accompanied by music and words infused with the profound energy and vibration of Stillness. The Practices are an applied form of spiritual teaching designed to help people practically integrate higher states of conscious into their daily lives.

Learning more about the person behind the philosophy

By interviewing Marlise, I got to find out much more about the person behind the product, and gained a great overview of who she is and what she does.

A brief biography of Marlise Karlin…

Marlise’s own spiritual journey was fueled by the limitations of her dramatic childhood circumstances – growing up with an alcoholic parent, becoming a teenage runaway, substance abuser and then a young single mother.

She later transformed herself into a successful entrepreneur and award-winning film producer. In 2001, a series of profound experiences completely shifted Marlise’s perception of life forever.

After a period of integration, Marlise was then guided to start sharing The Simplicity of Stillness with the world. Identified by as an inner-peace expert, Marlise is also an ongoing contributor to The Huffington Post and Malika Chopra’s Wellness blog.

Marlise is currently offering Stillness Programs and Retreats around the world, and is also writing her first book to further share what has been given to her.

Dear Marlise -

Guilty as charged. I am one of those people Michelle talks about who does a review of how productive I have been that day.

Most of the time I am not satisfied with my performance.

I am resistant to meditation. But I never thought that music could be a form.

My brother always says that listening to Bach will solve most of your problems.

Yes, I want peace of mind and more cows.

Thanks for a wonderful and inspiring interview.

When I used to write (before I discovered video!) I would listen to Bach. I think you are right – it solves all troubles. that and breathing!

HI Corrine,

If i can experience the extraordinary benefits that Stillness has to offer… anyone can. I was always a very go, go, go kind of person. And when i experienced that sweet infinite energy that began to flow through me.. it transformed my entire life and how i live it today.

Stillness Sessions contain that divine energy of Stillness and that is what you feel as you listen to the music and words in the audio work i offer. I love music, it enhances my life in so many ways… and i was taught by that knowing within that the stream of life’s magnetic force that moves through The Simplicity of Stillness has a vibration that can emanate through the music to take you into greater states of awareness soooo easily.

I suggest listening to Imagine – just to get a taste… and you will feel what i am speaking of. You will be amazed at just how quickly that to do list gets completed from your Being… instead of your Doing…

I am passing on the three breaths to my brother. Imagine what would happen if he combined it with Bach.

Peace of mind. More cows. Slowing down.

Finding the core of who I am comes in an easy step through the woods…bringing it home makes it possible for me to want less from the world and to find ways to give more and keep kindness at the forefront.

Thanks for this interview and thank you Marlise for bringing ‘stillness’ into so many lives!
