It all started with a wild dream: locals from developing countries leading the movement to save their environments from destruction. Lots of people said they were crazy. Many said they were wasting their time. Others simply didn’t understand how two accomplished people would give up great careers to teach kids about turtles. Today, Pankratz’ and Osborn’s non-profit, Ecology Project International (EPI) is reaching its 10th anniversary, has served over 6,000 people worldwide, and operates conservation education programs in Costa Rica, the Galapagos Islands, the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, and in Montana.
