Tricia Greaves – Heal Your Hunger – Emotional Eating and Weight Loss
Tricia knows about emotional eating. Hear what she has to say about type A personalities, emotional eating, and why eating 6 small meals a day is NOT the way to go if you are into weight loss.
No Snacking, no small meals – good healthy three squares a day is the way to go. (really? I love that -but what about my snacks?) Be hungry, let yourself feel an empty stomach – it’s good for us!
Learn to get control of your weight and eating. Although I’m not very much overweight (there’s always that 10 pounds), I do know that I eat when I’m happy, I eat when I’m mad, I eat when I’m sad – all emotional eating for sure. and I loved how Tricia gave me some tips – and some new ways of looking at food.
A Note from Tricia….When people suggested I lose weight by “eating in moderation” or “cutting out sweets”, I knew I couldn’t do it because food was everything to me. I had an insatiable appetite for all the wrong things – and wrong amounts! Strangely, even if I was “filled to the brim” and couldn’t eat any more, I STILL WASN’T SATISFIED!
The truth is that my hunger – especially for the ooey, gooey, chewy foods that were my staple when no one was watching – wasn’t a physical hunger. Every day I lived with a gnawing, gaping, yawn of a hole inside that was screaming to be filled. I had a hunger much deeper that no pastry, doughnut or plate of pasta could satisfy.

A lively discussion on overeating and some of us who feel we have to “DO IT ALL”
Never thought of it that way. Tricia says we reward ourselves with food when we are resentful of doing things we really don’t want to do.
She also ties in mediation with weight loss. Interesting.
Worth your time to view this interesting discussion. Definitely some “food” for thought here.
